Aria Bridal Show

By: Colleen Lennehan

The Aria hosted their annual Tasting and Vendor Showcase event last week, and we were thrilled to be apart of the evening.

We set our table up with “garden glamour” in mind. We draped a blush glittered runner down the center of the table, added a few mercury votives, and attached a ruffled skirt to the front; we loved the overall mix of glitter and earthy florals, as do many upcoming brides!

Terri created four completely different bouquets to highlight the wide range of flower possibilities. The first one sparkled and bloomed larger than any other rose we’ve seen. She used one white rose and dozens of petals to create a giant “single” rose bouquet. We love the uniqueness of this and how it shows off the beauty and simplicity of a “single” rose.

The next bouquet also appeals to the more daring bride as it only had three components: strung orchids, eucalyptus, and one massive succulent. The balance of tropical and organic in this bouquet is quite lovely, and would pair nicely with just about any color scheme.

The third bouquet shows off a classic style, but is still just as stunning as any other. Terri combined scabiosa pods, quicksand roses, white lisianthus , brunea, and eucalyptus in this sweet bouquet, giving it a natural look.

The last bouquet had echoes of ocean waves and rustling palm leaves. This tropical beauty had lush peonies, and fragrant garden roses mixed with white orchids, a classic island flower. Green ivy and two strands of orchids hung from the bouquet as well to elevate the look even more.

In addition to the bouquets Terri also created two centerpieces, one tall and one short, as well as a stunning birch arch backdrop.

The short centerpiece sat in a silver fairytale vase, topped with roses, hydrangea, stock, and eucalyptus, a popular look this year, but the tall arrangement really caught the eye of brides and grooms throughout the night.

Thin birch branches, mixed with white orchid strands extended out of the centerpiece, made of glittered hydrangea, white hydrangea, orchids, spray roses, and silver lemon leaves, while white feathers hung from the bottom. The entire glamorous piece sat on a clear pilsner vase, filled with birch branches.

To complete our vendor table we set up a birch arch with suspended succulent terrariums and strands of glitzy gems. Bunches of eucalyptus were added to the corners to incorporate the earthy feel we used throughout the table!

This was one of our favorite bridal shows to be in, we loved the overall outcome of our table and met many wonderful brides and grooms we hope to see again!

Wadsworth Mansion Wedding Show

This past Sunday dozens of wedding vendors gathered at the stunning Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown for their annual wedding show.

The venue, packed with brides and grooms, is a favorite of ours to work with.

Terri Krisavage Weddings and Events incorporated an all natural look for our display, a trend that is becoming more and more popular.

This earthy style allows the flowers and greens to create a beautiful “imperfect” look, in comparison to other traditional arrangement and bouquet styles.

We at Terri Krisavage Weddings and Events decided to really highlight all this trend has to offer through our bouquets, tablescape, mantle decor, and unique floral crowns.

Roses, hyacinth, ranunculus, amaryllis, fringe tulips, and succulents (among other stunning florals) were all used to create an organic garden feel, while hanging amaranthus draped from the table contrasted with a lush, vibrant look.

Another growing trend beloved by brides, bridesmaids, and flower girls are flower crowns: an earthy and creative addition to any wedding.

For the wedding show our team made three stunning floral crowns to wear throughout the day. We mainly used eucalyptus, bay leaves, succulents, and roses to complete the fairytale feel.

We absolutely loved the outcome of this all natural look for the wedding show and hope this sparked some inspiring ideas for you!

Highlights from The Wedding MBA Conference

I arrived home late Thursday night from the Wedding MBA conference that was held at the Las Vegas Convention Center  and my brain is on “SMO”… social media overload! I have returned with so many new apps, stats and ideas it will probably take me a week just to sift through them all.

Monday afternoon began the first session of the conference, with 4 floral specific programs. At first glance I would guesstimate that there were 100 florists & event designers from across the country in attendance and each 45 minute presentation was extremely informative & fun. I especially loved the presentation by the fabulous and funny Rene van Rems he is just so informative & educating and yes he really is funny! Continental Flowers from Miami supplied Rene with wonderful varieties of flowers that perfumed the entire conference room. Tuesday through Wednesday the full day sessions of programs began and from 8:00am to 4:00pm it was non stop action of seminars and wed talks with some of the top people in the wedding industry. There was also a wonderful trade fair with vendors representing all areas of the industry, I can’t wait until our crystal display pieces arrive!  Sonny Ganguly,CMO & Timothy Chi, CEO of Wedding Wire and their entire team were awesome not only with their presentations but with their interactive displays at the trade fair. Thank you Wedding Wire for being a corporate sponsor to the conference. Oh did I mention Alan Berg ,he as always offers a wonderful invigorating presentation.

So, I must admit it was not all work….there was some fun thrown in. Great dinners with my sister & brother-in-law who live in Vegas and my friend Luigi who was also attending the conference. We also saw Cirque du Soleil LOVE, the Beatles music was great but the show was absolutely spectacular, I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Vegas. there was even some poolside fun & sun.  Oh and then there were the cocktail parties hosted by The Knot and Wedding Wire, they were both held on Tuesday night and were so much fun, mind you I do not even drink and it was still hard to get up on Wednesday morning!

So Thursday came all too quickly and at noon the conference concluded. As I headed home, I thought of how grateful and thankful I am to have met so many new acquaintances and learned so many new ideas.

Many thanks to Will Hegarty and Shannon Underwood from Wedding MBA for producing an informative & invigorating conference. It was a ten in my book!

Till later…Peace & Love

Viva Las Vegas

I’m at the airport ready to board my plane leaving for Las Vegas, heading out to the annual Wedding MBA  convention for wedding pros. The trip will cover 4 action packed days with over 90 seminars presented by the industry’s top speakers such as Alan Berg , Rene Van Rems, Sonny Ganguly of Wedding Wire and those are just a few of the notable presenters. The Conference is geared to business, technology, style and trends and Oh I don’t want to forget the Vegas shows and great dining. I am also grateful to be able to visit with my sister who lives in Las Vegas and I am especially excited about our tickets to Cirque Du Soleil…The Beatle LOVE. So my few days off will not necessarily be relaxing by the pool, however I plan to come back with many new ideas for my business and my bridal clients. So Viva Las Vegas it is….till later, Peace & Love
