Real Wedding: Josh and Kara

By: Colleen Lennehan

Sweet stems of peonies, garden roses, and freesia popped out of antique bottles that lined nearly a dozen long banquet tables at the Essex Yacht Club.

Josh and Kara tied the knot on July 2nd, 2016, with a waterfront wedding reception under a dreamy Sperry tent. The couples color scheme of navy and pink was incorporated in every aspect.

Three types of ranunculus boutonnieres show the sweetness in size. One is fit for the couples ring bearers, another for their fabulous groomsmen, and the final, with the biggest bloom we could find was for Josh, the beaming groom.

The bridesmaids bouquets, wrapped in navy and white striped ribbon, were full of pinks and fuchsias. Garden roses, peonies, ranunculus, and wild flowers overflowed from these beautiful bouquets. For the bridal bouquet, Terri used many similar flowers, all in white, and wrapped the beauty in a piece of Kara’s mothers wedding gown. These bouquets show the beautiful combination of organic, airy, and sentimental!

We loved putting together clusters of bottles as centerpieces too! Each table received  three groups of bottles in varying heights, shapes, and sizes. Peonies, roses, garden roses, astilbe, thistle, lizzianthus, eucalyptus, and freesia were placed in each container, no two looking exactly the same.

The couples nautical touches carried into the tablescape as well, with a navy and white striped runner, place settings with rope highlights, and napkins filled with a sprig of eucalyptus and a thistle stem, the entire wedding was a beautiful balance of a seaside breeze and garden accents.

With waterfront views and peonies filling the warm summer air, this wedding was by far one of our favorite to be apart of!

3. Earthy Elements

Centerpieces of hydrangeas, roses, and ranunculus line these banquet style tables, drawing attention to classic spring florals. Natural looking nests rest along the table as well, bringing a certain earthy charm to the décor. It’s clear that by combining blue bird eggs, a pink and blue color scheme and bunches of blooms, spring has definitely sprung here all throughout this private event!

4. Rustic Romance

Your eye may be drawn to the overflowing flowers along these tables, but the small sweet details really tie this look together! Hydrangea stems were sprinkled along the center, throwing off the symmetry of the two rustic candles, and blooming bouquets!

5. Exotic Appeal

These vibrant tablescapes really showcase the endless possibilities when it comes to wedding décor. The lively colors pop against dark linens, adding lovely contrast to the look. Exotic orchids and classic rich roses blend together in a beautiful way in both the tall and short centerpieces. Including giant palm leaves to the tall pieces brings wonderful textures to the table as well!

6. Glitz and Glam

Mixing pale pink roses and gold sequin linens is a lovely way to combine two themes: garden and glitz. Both the tall candlabra arrangements and the long floral table runner are made up entirely of blush and ivory roses and hydrangeas, a stunning color scheme.
