Real Wedding: Colleen and Samuel

By: Colleen Lennehan

Pale pinks and earthy greens made up the romantic color scheme for Colleen and Samuel’s magazine worthy wedding.

The two married on July 3rd, 2016 at Woodwinds in Branford with seaside views and lush blooms surrounding their big day.

The spotlight in Colleen’s bouquets beamed over the peonies, an all-time popular wedding flower. In the bridal bouquet Terri used muted pale pinks and whites, while in the bridesmaids she bumped up the color a bit with deeper pink peonies and lisianthus.

Pink and white peonies, garden roses, ranunculus, astilbe, lisianthus, and eucalyptus made up these gorgeous bouquets. With a lighter color scheme the richer tones in the bridesmaids flowers added a romantic burst of color.

For the fellas, Terri made ranunculus boutonnières to compliment the girls bouquets.

Her organic look overflowed indoors into their centerpieces and cake décor too!

Similar flowers were used in their arrangements with the addition of pink roses, hydrangea, spray roses, and Queen Anne’s lace.

This couples airy look paired with the ease of the shoreline created the perfect blend for wedding day bliss.

We were so happy to be apart of their wedding, and can’t get over their stunning photos, captured by TBM Photos!

Real Wedding: Courtney and Justin

By: Colleen Lennehan

With turning fall foliage and blue skies, Courtney and Justin’s seaside wedding was nothing short of picture perfect.

The two married on October 7th, 2016 at St. Mary’s church in Stonington, later celebrating their love at the Inn at Mystic’s Haley Mansion. They kept their color scheme nautical with navy and gold, tying in their beautiful surroundings.

The finished look was absolutely fabulous, orchid stems sprang out of arrangements while floating candles added romance throughout the evening. With close to 20 tables, we split the room into high and low centerpieces. For the high, we used hydrangea and white orchids to create an eye catching arrangement, as for the low, we used gold bowls and topped them with calla lilies, orchids, hydrangea, and roses.

Terri lined their head table with a gold garland, adding in rose heads, orchid stems, and hydrangea to top it off. To bring light to their table, we placed cylinders with floating candles, as well as gold votives along the length of their navy runner.

Cocktail tables also received a little flower touch with rectangular vases full of white calla lilies, adding elegance to the small space.

As guests entered the venue, they were greeted with a beautiful manzanita branch arrangement that sat on the place card table.

Between the ocean views and their overflowing candy bar, this is one wedding that will never be forgotten. We wish the happy couple a life full of love and laughter as their marriage begins!

Real Wedding: Kristen and Dan

By: Colleen Lennehan

Underneath a balmy sun and surrounded by friends and family, Kristen Gortych and Dan Burgos became husband and wife on August 13th, 2016.

The couple held their seaside celebration at Harkness Memorial Park, with waterfront views for both their ceremony and reception, the night was a sweet mix of bridal elegance and salty breezes.

Pinks and blues are a classic nautical combination, and these two love birds incorporated them into their beachy big day as well. Kristen wore a beautiful strapless gown, while her bridesmaids were dressed in blush. To bring blue into their color scheme, Dan and his groomsmen wore navy suits, dressed up with pink spray rose and astilbe boutonnieres!

Blush shades continued into her bouquets and arrangements as well.

Kristen’s round bridal bouquet showcased a variety of flowers. Garden roses, dahlias, ranunculus, freesia, hydrangea, spray roses, and astilbe were all used in her textured bouquet, wrapped in a lace handkerchief.  The bridesmaids held similar bouquets, minus a few blooms!

Thankfully the bridal party and guests beat the heat during the ceremony, which took place outside in the park. Four gold pedestals lined the aisle, topped with giant arrangements of roses, hydrangea, and astilbe.

Back at the mansion, 14 tables sprinkled throughout the property, half with high arrangements and the remainder with low.

For the high centerpieces we used gold pedestals, and gold urns for the low, they each held blushing and blooming  roses and hydrangea. Four gold mercury votives circled the arrangements to add light and another color element to the tables.

Along with the 14 tables, we decorated two mantles with rose and hydrangea filled gold goblets and votives, and used more of the goblets to add décor to 8 cocktail tables.

The couples gift table was decorated with two white bird cages, dressed up with mini garlands of greens and spray roses. Every table in the mansion had a floral touch to it, bringing the outdoor, in!

We loved working with Kristen and Dan to create their wedding day dreams and wish them nothing but happiness as husband and wife!

Waterfront Wedding

On June 19th, 2015  longtime friend of mine Adam Chauncey Clemens married Kathy, the love of his life, at the Madison Beach Hotel.

I have worked with Adam for many years, providing flowers for events planned for the Linda Clemens Breast Cancer Foundation, and was thrilled to style and provide arrangements and bouquets for his beach wedding!

Creating the bouquets and centerpieces for Adam and Kathy was an absolute joy.

To match their wedding dreams, we created bouquets that were light, airy, and beachy. Pink peonies, white roses, and blue hydrangeas were all added in to highlight the sweetness of summer by the sea.

Their photographer, Danny Kash, captured every moment of their day. Danny is easily one of the best photographers in Connecticut, who never fails to impress his clients and viewers.

We loved working with this fabulous couple over the summer and hope their beach inspired wedding sparks some ideas for you!
