Real Wedding: Josh and Kara

By: Colleen Lennehan

Sweet stems of peonies, garden roses, and freesia popped out of antique bottles that lined nearly a dozen long banquet tables at the Essex Yacht Club.

Josh and Kara tied the knot on July 2nd, 2016, with a waterfront wedding reception under a dreamy Sperry tent. The couples color scheme of navy and pink was incorporated in every aspect.

Three types of ranunculus boutonnieres show the sweetness in size. One is fit for the couples ring bearers, another for their fabulous groomsmen, and the final, with the biggest bloom we could find was for Josh, the beaming groom.

The bridesmaids bouquets, wrapped in navy and white striped ribbon, were full of pinks and fuchsias. Garden roses, peonies, ranunculus, and wild flowers overflowed from these beautiful bouquets. For the bridal bouquet, Terri used many similar flowers, all in white, and wrapped the beauty in a piece of Kara’s mothers wedding gown. These bouquets show the beautiful combination of organic, airy, and sentimental!

We loved putting together clusters of bottles as centerpieces too! Each table received  three groups of bottles in varying heights, shapes, and sizes. Peonies, roses, garden roses, astilbe, thistle, lizzianthus, eucalyptus, and freesia were placed in each container, no two looking exactly the same.

The couples nautical touches carried into the tablescape as well, with a navy and white striped runner, place settings with rope highlights, and napkins filled with a sprig of eucalyptus and a thistle stem, the entire wedding was a beautiful balance of a seaside breeze and garden accents.

With waterfront views and peonies filling the warm summer air, this wedding was by far one of our favorite to be apart of!
